1863 Signed and Numbered Limited Edition Monument Replicas
The 43rd North Carolina fought hard on July 1, 1863, but this monument recalls their fighting on the morning of July 3. This regiment, part of Daniel’s brigade, attacked the federal trenches at the base of Culp’s Hill and even managed to capture a portion before being forced to withdraw.
The monument is located on East Confederate Avenue and was dedicated in 1988.
