1863 Signed and Numbered Limited Edition Monument Replicas
Although Battery L of the 1st New York Light Artillery was known as Reynolds’s battery, Captain Gilbert Reynolds fell wounded on July 1, and Lieutenant George Breck took command of the battery on July 2, 1863. Following the battle, Breck noted that the cemetery “now is trodden down, laid a waste, desecrated.”
The monument is located on East Cemetery Hill and was dedicated in 1891.
